Still fighting the urge..... to drink Coke and bite my nails.
I am not really wanting a soda like I thought that I would. Maybe this isn't going to be that hard after all. :o)
I am keeping the distance between my mouth and my nails far. Good so far!
I will talk about my new eating habit and exercise regiment in the next post!!

I drink 64 oz of water each day!
Fighting the urge..... to drink a Coke.
Hmmmm, Coke.... My guilty pleasure. I have been known to drink one or two of these babies per day. The ingredients in this evil little thing, I am sure, have been working hard to break down my body. Well, today, I start the "No More Soda Diet" (self-titled). I have already drank about 40 oz of water so far today. My goal is to drink at least 64 oz every day. I can't wait for the day when I DESIRE water and the thought of a soft drink would make me ill. :o)
I have beautiful hands!
Fighting the urge.....to bite my nails.
I have done it for as long as I can remember. Sure, I have taken several hiatuses from the nasty little habit, but none of them have lasted longer than 3-4 months. Unfortunately, it seems that I have passed this gross habit onto one of my children. I hope that by my example she will be able to stop as well.
I am posting a picture of my hands now (yuck!) and I will post another one once they have become the beautiful hands that I know that they can be.

Why This Blog? Why now?
I woke up early yesterday morning and the title of this blog "Fight The Urge!" came to my mind as I was contemplating pushing the snooze button AGAIN. I reluctantly rose from my comfortable bed and sluggishly put on my thinking cap and started to do some quick arithmetic. "If I sleep for just another 20 minutes, I can still make it on time." Oh - how often I use this crazy logic while I am oh so sleepy. Another 20 minutes would mean that I would be rushing to get ready and out the door on time. Well, I fought the urge to sleep an additional 20 minutes and got right in the shower. As soon as the water hit my face, I was glad that I had fought that well ingrained urge to postpone my life for another sleepy 20 minutes.
See, it's not only about snoozing in the morning. Fight the Urge! is about overcoming ALL of the bad habits that are keeping me from being the person that I truly want to be. And replacing them with positive habits that will enhance my physical, spiritual and mental health.
In this blog I will document my daily progress towards reaching my personal goals. It's a way for me to be accountable for doing the things that I say I am going to do.
Why now? Why not!! I am tired of being a prisoner to my bad habits. I will not allow them to control me any longer. I am in complete control of MY life. My thoughts and my actions will be focused on achieving my heart's true desires.
